A Small Cup of Luxury

What is your most luxurious everday dream? I'm not talking about owning a vineyard in the south of France or jetting off to Jamaica for the weekend. I'm talking about what you would do if you had an extra hour in your day that you could set aside just for you. Mine is fairly simple: an hour every morning with a cup of coffee or tea, a magazine or book or newspaper (the real ones, not digital) and some natural light. But here's the luxurious part that I dream about every time I currently get to partake in this activity: my house renovation dream. I love my house so much but I have so many plans to make it into the small house of my dreams. And one of those plans is to expand the back of the house to create a real back entryway (one that is actually large enough to sit down and take off muddy boots) and a nook for a small wood-burning stove, table, two comfy chairs and a coffee station. In my dream this area would also be almost all windows to get in as much light as possible. Now when I make that pot of coffee in my head I can curl up in one of those chairs by the fire and read my book for a little while every morning before the rest of the house wakes up. Or I can sneak outside to the deck off the back of this non-existent dream kitchen and sit in the summer sun with a magazine and some iced tea. Sigh.

Don't forget to indulge in a little daydreaming today. It's good for the soul.
